When your LG Oven & Range displays the F1 code, it means the appliance's self-diagnostic system has detected a fault that requires attention. LG's smart diagnosis system is designed to surface this error only when the condition is confirmed — meaning a single power cycle that clears the code is not a reliable fix if the underlying cause has not been addressed.
Based on our technicians' experience servicing LG Oven & Ranges, the F1 code is most frequently triggered by the following:
Before scheduling a service call, work through the following steps in order. These checks resolve the F1 error in a meaningful percentage of cases when the cause is a minor blockage or transient fault rather than a failed component.
If the F1 code returns after completing the steps above, a component has likely failed and the repair requires disassembly, professional diagnosis, and genuine LG OEM parts. Continuing to run the appliance with an active fault may cause secondary damage — for example, a failing drain pump that is not replaced can overheat and damage the motor or control board.

Answers to the most common questions our customers ask.
Uneven baking in LG electric ranges is most often caused by a weak or partially failed bake element — it glows but doesn't produce full wattage. On LG gas ranges, a dirty or misaligned burner cap causes uneven flame. Both are same-day repairs with OEM LG parts.
F3 means the oven temperature sensor (RTD probe) is open-circuit or shorted. The oven will not heat correctly. The sensor is a simple plug-in part located at the back of the oven cavity — typically a 30-minute repair.
The most common cause is food debris clogging the igniter port or the burner cap being misaligned after cleaning. Wipe the igniter tip and ensure the burner cap sits flat. If clicking continues without lighting, the igniter electrode or spark module has failed.
The Air Fry mode uses the same bake/convection elements as regular cooking. If the oven won't heat, Air Fry will also fail. The repair that fixes the oven will restore all cooking modes, including Air Fry, Convection, and ProBake.
