- Check duct length and bends — for electric dryers, maximum equivalent duct length is 65 feet. Every 90° bend adds 5 equivalent feet.
Load Size and Fabric Sorting
- Dry similar fabrics together — heavy towels and lightweight t-shirts have very different drying times. Mixing them means either the shirts are over-dried or the towels are still damp.
- Do not overload — clothes need room to tumble. The drum should be no more than 75% full.
- Spin speed matters — the faster your washer spins, the less water enters the dryer. Use the maximum spin speed for items that tolerate it.
